A shocked woman allegedly caught her
teen son in bed with his high school counsellor. Shannon Hathaway, 33, is said
to have romped with the boy almost a dozen times before his mother walked in on
them in his room.
Hathaway also reportedly told the
17-year-old lad’s sister she was in love with him, and would leave her
wrestling coach husband Joe for him.
She turned herself in to cops on a
charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student after a month-long
probe by police and education bosses.
The counsellor had been on leave
from Harwood Junior High School, Texas, US, since the investigation started
after the student’s sister told officials about the alleged affair.
She said Hathaway spent a lot of time
with her brother in the 2016-17 school year. He was now 18 and had since
dropped out of school.
The sister never saw inappropriate
behaviour between the pair apart from Hathaway holding her brother’s hand,
police files say.
The teen told investigators he had
consensual sex two or three times with Hathaway in her master bedroom at her
home in Keller while her husband was away.
His sister and her pal stayed
overnight at the same time and slept in a guest room.
He and Hathaway also romped some
eight times at his home in Euless, the documents say.
A year or so later – and after his
mum walked in on them – he broke off the relationship and started at a
different school
