The
Ofalla is a special occasion hosted by Chiefs and Kings in Igbo land during the
annual New Yam festival - a celebration of new yam harvests.
Eze
Uzu III of Awka had been invited to the Ofalla by Igwe Timothy Ezenwaka
(Ochiagha II of Ezinato).
The
colourful festival had the whole Ezinato community gathered at the Igwe's
palace in Ndikpa village, Ezinato, Awka South L. G. A, Awka, Anambra State.
Eze
Uzu Awka had shined even brighter when he danced and encouraged the traditional
band with wads of cash as he danced to their tune.
The
performance was a spectacle.
One
cannot wait for the next season of Ofalla festival which is highly regarded by
the Igbo people everywhere.
