Buhari approves appointments of Shonubi as CBN deputy gov, other heads of federal agencies

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed the appointment of Mr Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria following the Senate confirmation.

The President has also approved the appointment of some Chief Executive Officers and Directors General of some Federal Government Agencies.
Permanent Secretary (General Services Office) Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Olusegun Adekunle, conveyed the appointments in two separate statements made available to newsmen on Friday in Abuja.
President Buhari urged the new appointees to serve the nation with all sense of responsibility, honesty, diligence and promote good governance in the discharge of their duties.
He enjoined them to regard their appointments as a call to National Service and to carry out their responsibilities with uprightness, diligence and prompt response to the yearnings of the public.
He also charged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities.
According to the statement, the appointment Shonubi as CBN Deputy Governor took effect from 17th October 2018 for a
period of five (5) years in the first instance.
While Mr Banire Muiz Adeyemi has been appointed as the part-time Chairman of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), with effect from 17th October 2018 for a period of five (5) years in the first instance, Engr (Dr) Sule Yakubu Bassi,has been appointed as the Secretary of Nigerian Diaspora Commission, with effect from 19th October, 2018 for an initial period of four(4) years.
Other appointments are; Prof. Okechukwu Ukwuoma, Director General, National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) for a second and final term of four (4) years with effect from 22nd July 2018.
Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, has Prof. Victor Adebayo Adetiloye as Chief Medical Director (CMD) for the second and final term of four years, with effect, from 22nd September 2018.
Federal Judiciary Service Commission also has Senator Abba Ali and Mr Mohammed Sagir as members (Non-Legal Practitioners) for an initial period of five (5) years with effect from 24th October 2018.
The statement further indicated that President Buhari has appointed Engr. (Dr.) Kasali Muideen Yomi as the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), Ilorin, for the initial term of four (4)
years with effect from 28th October 2018.
Others are; Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) Ilorin, Dr Olufemi Ajayi Oladunni, for the initial term of four (4) years with effect from 28th October 2018: Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency, Engr Clement Onyeabo Nze Director-General, initial term of four (4) years with effect from 28th October 2018.
Mr Clement Isong has also been appointed to replace Thomas Obafemi Olawore on the Board of the Petroleum Product Pricing
Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), as member With effect from 28th October 2018.
The National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission, has Engr. David Isho Nyikyaa as Secretary with effect from 1st November 2018, while the Special Investigation Panel for Recovery of Public Property has Mr Obinna Francis Ogwuegbu as Secretary with effect from 2nd November 2018.
Dr Akinrinola Samuel Akintunde has been as the Provost, Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, for an initial term of four (4) years with effect from 6th November 2018.
Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, has the tenure of Prof. Emmanuel Adebayo Fasakin renewed as Rector for a second and final term of four (4) years with effect from 6th November 2018.
Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom, Director-General/CEO, for an initial term of four (4) years with effect from 12th January 2019.
Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA), Ambassador Abdul-Jalil Suleiman, Director-General for an initial term of four (4) years with effect from 17th September 2018.
University of Uyo Teaching Hospital Dr Bassey Emem Abasi, Chief Medical Director (CMD), for an initial term of four (4) years with effect from 22nd September 2018
Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO), Mrs Mojoyi Oluwa Dekalu-Thomas and Mrs Chinedum Olisakwe Lawrence Executive Director (Liability Management) and Executive Director (Corporate Services) for an initial term of four (4) years with effect from 20th September 2018 and second and final terms of four (4) years with effect from 20th September 2018 respectively.
Border Communities Development Agency (BDCA), Capt. Junaid Abdullahi, Executive Secretary with effect from 22nd September 2018 for an initial period of four (4) years.
