Recall that,
President Muhammadu Buhari signed the “NotTooYoungToRun Bill” into law at
the council chamber of state house presidential villa, in the presence of
leaders of the movement as well as selected invited youth from the country.
•The new law is aimed
at relaxing some of the stringent and discriminatory provisions of the
constitution.
•NTYTR bill was passed
by the National Assembly last year to alter section 65, 106, 131, 177 of the
Nigerian constitution and it seeks to reduce the age qualification for
presidents from 40 to 30, governor 35 to 30, Senator from 35 to 30, House of
Representative membership from 38 to 25.
•However, in the
assented bill, the age qualification for governor and senate was retained at 35
years contrary to the demand of the movement.

State is dedicated to
inspire young men and women to run for public office. With this movement, young
people can demonstrate excellent public leadership with real capacity to
address Anambra State governance
challenges.
OBJECTIVES
•To
increase young men and women interest to run for public office. The desire
borne out the urgent need for responsive, acceptable and innovation.
•To
inspire young people to participate and sanitize Politics. Politics is not
dirty. Only the players are dirty.
•To
build a body of knowledge on youth candidacy in the state.
•To
monitor trends on youth participation in Politics.
