Our Position, NotTooYoungToRun Politics

Recall that, President Muhammadu Buhari signed the “NotTooYoungToRun Bill” into law at the council chamber of state house presidential villa, in the presence of leaders of the movement as well as selected invited youth from the country.
The new law is aimed at relaxing some of the stringent and discriminatory provisions of the constitution.

NTYTR bill was passed by the National Assembly last year to alter section 65, 106, 131, 177 of the Nigerian constitution and it seeks to reduce the age qualification for presidents from 40 to 30, governor 35 to 30, Senator from 35 to 30, House of Representative membership from 38 to 25.
However, in the assented bill, the age qualification for governor and senate was retained at 35 years contrary to the demand of the movement.

NotTooYoungToRun movement Anambra State is dedicated to inspire young men and women to run for public office. With this movement, young people can demonstrate excellent public leadership with real capacity to address Anambra State governance challenges.
