2019 ELECTIONS. WHO WILL WEAR THE CROWN


With few weeks to the general elections, prediction and analysis has been the topic of discussion almost at every gathering. Both the young and old have keen interest on what the outcome will be.


 Nigerians have finally come to realize that the choice of their leader is as important as their personal business because it will in no small measure influence and affect their lives for the next four years.

Lobbing for votes by Candidates who are aiming at  unseating a particular opponent and those who are seeking to be re-elected now go to sleep with one eyes open because until the battle is won, majority of them will know no rest.

This is the period of campaign and the political activities is fully alive nationwide. Anambra state has not been an exception as Campaign from different wards, constituencies and district has taken up in high speed.

The question on the lips of every Nigeria is who will emerge victorious at the end of the day as all hands are on deck from all angles towards making sure victory is attained.

Candidates of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for Anambra state House of Assembly Awka South constituency Chief Emeka Igwe ( E Too Dike Na Okpuno) while addressing party faithfuls at ward 8 Agu-Awka recently boasted saying  "PDP will win landslide all the way at the general election.

In his words " The present administration has not done well. They have not attracted any infrastructure or pass any bill that favours us.

'My vision is to promote citizens participation in public policy and engagement including public institutions with a focus on promoting good governance through inclusive representation and sustainable development in Awka south constituency 1.

"My agenda is to create scholarship for indigent and physically  challenged students, Create human capital Development And employment. I assure my constituency of accountability, competence, integrity, transparency, creativity, consistency and team work."

House of Assembly Candidate for the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Idemili North constituency Hon. Ifeanyi Arthur Chiekwu (Money man) has assured his constituents that if voted for, he will offer quality and better representation.

This statement was made While addressing his campaign team. He retreated his commitment noting that "His prime purpose and objectives was to offer quality and effective representation. My hunger to serve had already envelope me and I will stop at nothing until result is achieved. "

Candidate for Awka North and South federal Constituency under the Social Democratic Party ( SDP) Chief Goddy Ezenagu ( Ochendu) on his part has called on his constituents to learn from their past mistakes were they voted for the wrong party and candidate.

According to the SDP candidate " The high level of misrepresention of Awka North and South Federal constituency at the National Assembly in the last few years is alarming and nothing to write home about.

"Representation as the people have come to see is not a Tea Party. It should be entrusted to someone who is capable and has paid his dues in the political journey. For the fact that it is the turn of Awka North to represent the constituency this time around is a pointer to the fact that I deserve  to be at the green chambers.

Ochendu made this declaration at the inauguration of the party wards and local government area coordinators committee event at the campaign office.

Since his declaration to run under SDP after the debacle and show of shame by APGA at the primaries, Ochendu have been receiving support regularly across board.

Engineer Sam Chinedu Onwuaso (Mkponana)  Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  Awka North and South Federal constituency has urged his constituents to vote for him on the 16th of February emphasising that PDP has the intrest of Ndigbo at heart that is why Peter Obi was chosen as the vice president.

Onwuaso made the call at ward 8 Agu Awka recently. According to him "This is the time to correct all the errors and past mistakes. If you vote for me there will be development in agriculture, Ecological intervention for easy access through road and bridges and also human capital development empowerment will be in place.

Candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) Anambra South senatorial District Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Uba has retreated his readiness to discover his people stating that soo many economic policies have gone against the igbo race.

Uba made this call at the inauguration of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ihiala chapter recently. Uba appealed to Ndi Ihiala to throw their support on him emphasising that but Sports, education, oil sector, sea pot among others are areas he will improve.

The capital oil as he is popularly know urged his supporters not to be discouraged starting that the political party does not matter but the candidate should be the main focus.

Senator Uche Ekwunife candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Anambra Central Senatorial District has expressed gratitude to the people of ward 8 Agu Awka for their massive support in 2015 which took her to the Senate.

Ekwunife while addressing party faithfuls recently outlined her achievement  in her 6 months as senator.

The two time house or representative member regretted that she did not stay long at the upper chambers duo to mischief makers.

According to her " My mandate was stolen and since then,  it has been difficult for me to bear. We all fourt for that victory in 2015 but this time around those who stole it will not have the privilege and opportunity again. This is our time.

"I have the capability, experience, competence and confidence to represent Anambra central.

"PDP is a party for Ndigbo. Alex Ekwueme are among the finding fathers. Peter Obi is our presidental candidate. This is enough prove that PDP is for the igbo race.

"Two things will make us win. Prayer and hardworking. Without this two combination, nothing will work.

"I'm ready to reclaim my stolen position. When I go back to Abuja as a senator,  I will reduce unemplyement.

As the heat continues to get hotter fingers are crossed as we await the outcome of the election.
