Business moguls, Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola, have made a
promise to the Super Eagles as Niger progresses in the 2019 Africa Cup of
Nations, AFCON.
The billionaires said they will donate $50,000 and $25,000
respectively for each goals scored in their semi-final game against Algeria.
The Super Eagles will battle the North Africans for a place
in the final on Sunday at the Cairo International Stadium.
They defeated South Africa 2-1 in the quarter-final on
Wednesday.
Osasu Obayiuwana disclosed the cash rain promise on Twitter,
with a video of President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Amaju
Pinnick, announcing the gesture at the team’s base in Cairo on Thursday.
The member of the NFF Reform Committee tweeted: “Africa’s
richest businessman, @AlikoDangote promises the @NGSuperEagles $50k for every
goal they score in the #AFCON2019semi-final. @realFemiOtedola will pay $25k per
goal.”
