The
Police and other security agencies in Oguta LGA has been called
upon
to liaise with Mezie Oguta Forum in
realizing sustainable,
peace,
and orderliness in the area. The call was made by the
coordinator
general, Mezie Oguta Forum, Chief Hon. Thaddeus Nwachukwu
(Oputaobie)
when he led the executive members of the forum to the
Oguta
Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Superintendent of Police
Kingsley
Iredibia in his office.
Chief
Nwachukwu told the DPO that the newly inaugurated Mezie Oguta
Forum
has peace and over all development of Oguta Local Government
Area
as their principal assignment, noting that the local government
has
suffered abject neglect, irrespective of the fact that Oguta Local
Government
is a major catchment area of oil companies in state. The
coordinator
general said that their visit to the divisional police
office
was an indication that the forum was prepared to aid the Police
in
ensuring crime free Oguta Local Government , especially as the
ember
months sets-in and will continue from
there.
Presenting
the inaugural address of Mezie Oguta Forum to the Oguta
Divisional
Police Officer (DPO), the secretary general of the forum,
Hon.
Chief Chinedu Orum (Ebubedike) said that the forum considered the
Police
as sen que none in issues of group formation, peace and
progress
and decided to embark on the visit, he said that for the
forum
to realize its aim and objectives, she has to put acts together
with
available security agencies, especially the police. He urged the
DPO
to always give heed to any hand of partnership from the forum
whenever
the need arise, promising that the forum will never be found
wanting
in any form.
In
his contribution, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the forum,
Hon.
Stephen Oluwuihe (a.k.a 10-10) used
the visit to welcome the
new
DPO to Oguta Oil City and promised him
assistance from the group
as
to make his assignment of ridding Oguta
of criminal elements very
successful,
Hon Oluwuihe said that the forum enumerated both agonies,
deprivations
and high rate of crime in the area and decided to
assemble
men and women of honour from Oguta to form and inaugurate
Mezie
Oguta for peace and progress of the
area. He commended the DPO,
Kingsley
Iredibia for the efforts he has made so far within this
while.
Reacting
to the address, the Oguta Divisional Police Officer (DPO),
Mr.
Kingsley Iredibia thanked the Mezie
Oguta forum for seeing
relevance in visiting his office, describing it as mere wisdom for
tagging their objectives as peace move.

Iredibia expressed optimism that the group will always act
according
to their address, he stressed the need for peace and called
on
the forum and its leadership to count on Police Assistant where
necessary.
Mr.
Iredibia reminded Mezie Oguta
who opted using dialogue and
peaceful
means to achieving her goals that they should always prevail
on
the people to avail information to the
police for the realization
of
crime free society, adding that police officers are men like any
other
human being and cannot do magic to curb crime, except assistance
from
the society.
