Oluwaseun
Osowobi, who recently got a special shout out from Barack Obama when she was
named in the TIME 100 Next List, has called out the Nigerian police.
Oluwaseun said she was in a car when her
driver was stopped by some policemen because he was answering a call while
driving. She took a photo of the incident, and, as a result, was arrested and
taken to the police station.
She tweeted: "I just got released from
the Police Station. The person driving the vehicle I was in was on a call, he
was stopped and was about to be arrested + handcuffed.
"My
crime: I took a photo evidence of the situation & said nothing to calm the
driver down.
She
added: "I have so much resentment in me.
"I
sat at the Station & heard a female Police officer brag about how a man was
left in the cell for days because they wanted to teach him a lesson for
insisting he knew his rights as a Nigerian citizen when he was arrested. Other
officers laughed."
