to celebrate its customers for their patronage and loyalty, while identifying
with the culture and traditions of the people resident in the South-Eastern
part of the country.
Speaking at the event, the Marketing Director, International
Breweries, Plc., Mrs. Tolu Adedeji said “every year, the Hero Fiesta is held to
appreciate loyal fans of the brand as well as connect the brand with its
teeming consumers and customers.
"Onitsha has always been the venue for this annual
festivity to show gratitude to the people who welcomed the Hero beer into their
family and made it their own. As usual, we are glad to have delivered a
brilliant music/entertainment experience to beer and music lovers who came out
in their thousands to have a splendid moment with their favourite beer,”
Adedeji said.
The brand seized the opportunity of the fiesta to also
introduce the 'Echefula' cans, a set of new attractive cans with interesting
appellations; Igwe, Nwanne, Dike, Ada, and Odogwu which serve as reminders to
consumers to never forget who they are.
"No matter who the consumer is, there is a special
design for them. These designs are also
on the Hero bottles and are designed to be shared with friends.
“Hero brand is a loyalist brand and does not take lightly
the people’s choice to make Hero their preferred drink. Christened ‘Oh Mpa’,
(Mpa means father in Igbo language) by the people, the new cans were borne to
celebrate the identity of every consumer as part of the 'Echefula' Never forget
your identity campaign.
"We are super excited about the new culture infused
designs on the cans and bottles of Hero and happy to encourage our consumers to
collect and share these various designs
that connects the most with them whether Igwe, Nwanne, Ada, Odogwu or
Dike,” Adedeji added .
Recently, Hero Lager
kicked off a unique campaign tagged (Echefula) “Never Forget Your Identity”,
encouraging Hero loyalists to feel confident and show pride for their heritage,
way of life, beliefs and tradition and Never Forget our identity as
HEROes.
Just last year, Hero Lager Beer got a new crown cork -a Red
Cork with the Obi of Onitsha on hand to perform the Red Capping ceremony. The
red cap ideology is of high importance to the South East people of Nigeria as
it represents the peak of achievement, societal status and recognition for any
individual or brand.
