A Nigerian woman has accused some police officers of assaulting her after she tried to help a “hungry pedestrian” they were allegedly manhandling for not wearing face mask in front of her estate in Abuja.
She further revealed that she was assaulted after she
brought out her phone to record the incident.
She tweeted;
This happened right in front of my estate in Abuja. On my
way out I saw police men chasing and manhandling a hungry pedestrian because he
wasn’t wearing a mask, I cane down from the car and begged them to stop beating
him while I offered to go back home or give them money to Buy him one but one
of the police men started telling me to mind my business and get out and I said
to him that I wouldn’t go anywhere till a solution was proffered and that was how
he hit and pushed me then I decided to bring out my phone.
My phone was grabbed by one of them, by then people started stopping and begged me to leave before I get killed for nothing. Things can’t continue this way!!! I will never run away from speaking against injustice!
