Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor has described youths as vital component of the society.
In his goodwill message to mark the world youth day, Okafor noted that as fundamental tools for sustainable development, youths should be given the necessary opportunity and encouragement to actualize their potentials.
The speaker who is a youth himself, commended governor Willie Obiano for running a youth inclusive administration by giving political appointments to many youths as well as provision of employments and other youth empowerment programmers for the youths of the state.
He maintained that since youths have been provided a political space to operate through signing into law "The Not Too Young To Run" bill by President Mohammad Buhari, various governments, political stakeholders and institutions should ensure full implementation of the law to accommodate more youths in Nigeria's political system.
Okafor enjoined youths to take their education and other meaningful ventures seriously and shun acts capable of jeopardizing their future.
