PROFILE OF EVANG. DR CHIDOZIE WILSON NWANKWO, CHAIRMAN WICHTECH GROUP OF COMPANIES.


Dr Chidozie Nwankwo was born 54years ago to the family of Chief and Mrs Joseph Nwankwo of Ifite village, Oko, in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State. He started his academic career at the famous Central Primary School Odoakpu Onitsha, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC), and attended Comprehensive Secondary School Onitsha. He studied Building Technology at GTC Onitsha, and obtained Federal Craft Certificate. Dr Chidozie Nwankwo also studied Building Technology under City & Guilds London, before proceeding to Greenhills University, Denmark for his BSc degree in Building Services. His quest for knowledge, drove him to acquire further technical and professional certificates both in Europe and the United States of America. He has also received several Honorary Doctorate degrees from many reputable international institutions like Green Hills University, Denmark, April 2013; for Leadership, Community Development and International Relations, and Commonwealth University Belize in December 2015.

Dr Chidozie Nwankwo ventured into business in 1985, and founded Chido Business Ventures in 1986, which later became a limited company in 1992. The Company majored in distributing glass sheets and other building materials throughout Nigeria. He was a major customer of Oluwa Glass Industries Ltd, Ondo, between 1991-1994, and won an award as the outstanding distributor for the company, under the German administrator, Dr Lordloy.
In 1997 he lead a company known as CHIDOO-DEHACO GROUP, that transformed Shipping business from Asian countries to eastern part of the country between 1997 to 2007,this group was the biggest customer to mesrskline  in the eastern part of Nigeria for 10years

In 1995, Chidozie Nwankwo founded Wichtech Industries Ltd. The company supplies high quality and specialised building materials to its numerous customers; thereby revolutionizing the face of building in Nigeria into modern edifices of class, structural integrity and aesthetic resonance. Wichtech has been rated as one of the foremost leading companies providing quality and durable building materials in Nigeria and West Africa of today.

Dr Chidozie Nwankwo, as the Chairman/Chief Executive of Wichtech Group of Companies, oversees the numerous reputable subsidiaries under the company among which are; Wichtech Industries Ltd and Wichtech Homes Ltd. Wichtech Industries Ltd has over 160 offices in Nigeria and other African countries, and has built a reputation for distributing specialized quality building materials such as stone coated roofing sheets (Gerard products) from Fletcher Building Ltd, IPS plumbing solutions and Betek paints. On the other hand, Wichtech Homes is a foremost real estate concern involved in the construction of residential buildings and infrastructures within Estates. The firm has deployed buildings exhibiting pure elegance, finesse and sense of panache in Ikoyi, Lagos, and Abuja.

Dr Nwankwo is also a great philanthropist. This disposition led him to establish the Kingdom Care Foundation; a non-profit,  non-governmental organization (NGO) that organises poverty alleviation programmes, offers scholarships, funds missionary activities, supports orphans and widows both in the rural and urban areas of Nigeria. The foundation has recorded immense progress and touched the lives of over 10,000 widows with financial assistance since its inception 30 years ago. Similarly, over 300 students have received scholarship awards, from secondary to tertiary institutions, in the last 10 years, and over 600 families have been assisted to start small businesses. Spiritual lives of people were not left out because over 30 Missionary crusades have been organised and sponsored over the years with provision of financial support for medical outreaches across the country. In all, over 100,000 families have been supported by the activities of the foundation.

Dr Chidozie Nwankwo is happily married and blessed with children.
