Magistrate Action Over Bar. Afam Emejulu Case






The True Story.
The Magistrate's Court Onitsha was filled to the brim because of the sensational case that came up as overnight.

Some political thugs were paid to take down a politician who is perceived as a threat to other politicians in Onitsha north 11, Bar. Afam Emejulu narrowly escaped being assassinated.
The culprits were brought to court and the case was assigned to Magistrate's Court 3, but later moved to Court 2 due to the fact that court 3 didn't sit.
The accused persons ifeanyi onwuegbusi and one other, are facing three count charges: attempted murder among other charges. The court had to stand down the matter and ordered that the complainant be brought to court because it was alleged that he sustained heavy injury.

When the court reconvened, the charge was read to the defendants and no plea was taken as the court lacks jurisdiction to try the matter.
Lawyer for the defendants applied for their bail, the prosecutor opposed the bail on the grounds that there could be a reprisal attack.
Case adjourned till 28 of March for ruling on the bail.
