...This is false!

My attention has been drawn to some online posts with the above title insinuating that the government of Anambra State is yet to pay its civil servants for the month of December, 2019.

A thorough cyber check confirms that those posts are being made by human elements well known to be in the habit of spreading only malicious and negative stories about Anambra State; the Governor, Chief Willie Obiano; and his immediate family. These agents of falsehood are majorly sponsored by the opposition to continuously present Anambra State in bad light while a few others engage in this ethuggery out of mere malice.

It's on record that Chief Willie Obiano of Anambra State is the first governor in Nigeria to constantly pay workers salaries on the 24th day of every month. Also, the governor has, since his first year in office, ensured that workers are paid all benefits and given extra largesse before the Christmas holidays.

Even amidst recession, Gov Obiano increased the workers salary and recently, he assured civil servants of the readiness of his government to pay the new minimum wage. At both local and national levels, the governor has been widely commended and recently got honoured as Most Workers Friendly Governor for coming tops in terms of workers welfare.

Thus, it's pertinent to state categorically that December payments for all Civil Servants in Anambra State as well as pensioners have been effected long before Christmas. A few persons yet to receive alert perhaps due to a recent system update or any other irregularities have been advised to report to the Head of Service for immediate resolution.

Therefore, the attempt to insinuate that the government of Anambra State is yet to pay its civil servants is false, malicious and totally unacceptable. It's a very wrong way to play politics.

Workers deserve their pay. Hence, other leaders should emulate the Obiano Model to always put smiles on the faces of their staff.
