Anambra: Youth Ministry moves to partner NGO on Digipreneurship Expansion



In a bid to fully develop digital entrepreneurship sub sector, Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy in conjunction with Teenovative Africa is to fine tune modalities for partnership with a view to creating career opportunities for youths.

Teenovative Africa is a Pan-African Governmental Organization(NGO) dedicated to providing support services and development of youths potentials for self discovery. 

Receiving a delegation of the group in her office on a courtesy visit, Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Prof Theresa Obiekezie, said her Ministry would collaborate with recognized bodies to achieve its mandate.

She added that partnership was critical for successful implementation of its programmes and projects aimed at harnessing the potentials of youths in the state.

While describing the collaborative arrangement as crucial and apt, she directed the Digital Entrepreneurship Office, an agency under the supervision of the Ministry, to liaise with the group to articulate a blueprint to facilitate the move.

Responding, the Director General, Digital Entrepreneurship Office, Engr Ifeanyi Aniagoh, identified areas of collaboration to include, nurturing, expansion and utilization of the digital space for economic sustainability. 

According to him, the Office under his watch has already introduced some programmes including Digipreneur Week, KidCode and I Can Project amongst others, to harness talented youths for skill development and wealth creation. 

Earlier, the President of the Group, Mr Mmaduabuchi Okeke, told the Commissioner that it was founded in 2016 out of passion to address societal challenges militating against youth productivity. 

He noted  that over the years it had assisted no fewer than 7,000 youths to rediscover themselves through training and mentorship programmes organized in varied areas of specialization.
