The motion which was lead by the Minority Leader of the house and member representing Ekwusigo constituency Hon. Apostle Onyebuchi Ofor brought the matter to the honorable members urging them to use their powers as legislators to stop the condermable act.
According to him " Last week when His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano the executive Governor of Anambra state Paid a courtesy visit to my constituency, surprisingly some one introduced himself as the chairman of Ekwusigo LGA
"Engineer Ikenna Ofordeme the legitimate chairman resigned his position some time ago and it's amazing why someone else will take up that position without an appointment and without appearing for confirmation by this chamber.
"Am urging us to use our power to as law makers to direct Mr Uchenna to stop pariding himself as the chairman.
Kingsley Iruba and Lawrence Ezeude in their separate submissions condermed the act starting that it is abuse of power.
"It is wrong for someone to begain to clame what he is not. One cannot assume the post of a Chairman unless passed and confirmed by this house. It is terrible when people abuse power they don't have. It is very strange. It is our job and within our power to stop these condermable act.
Speaker, Rita Maduagwu who presided the plenary ruled by saying " Be it therefor resolved that this honorable house hereby direct Mr. Ikenna Ofordeme to immediately hand over to the head of LG administration of Ekwusigo LGA who shall act as the chairman pending the appointment and confirmation of the new chairman by the house of Assembly. Mr Uchenna is here by restrained to stop parading himself as chairman of Ekwusigo LGA
