Residents of Amansea, a community in Awka North local government area have expressed shock on the prosponment of the election date but shown readiness and willingness to come out in mass and exercise their franchise on the 23rd of February and 9th of March to vote for candidates of their choice.

One of the indegine, Ebuka Ekwunife who spoke to this paper said "it is the responsibility of all Nigerian to ensure free and fair election. Citizens should not grieve over what happened but support INEC to ensure the success of the exercise during the next rescheduled date.

"we must prove that we are stronger than our oppressors and that our will to kick them out is stronger than theirs to remain in power. We must not succumb to the aunties of political jackals. "

Another speaker who does not want his name to be mentioned accused the ruling party of being the invisible hand behind the postponement following fears that Nigerins were ready and eager to vote them out at the polls.

According to him "The used the advantage as the party in power to further inflict needless and avoidable hardship on Nigerians. People traveled both far and near for the purpose of the election.

He added by saying "The inconveniences and discomfort suffered will be nothing compared to the hell we would be further subjected to for another four years if we do not exercise that right to vote for a better Nigeria."

Mrs Chidimma Dike who came back from Lagos because of the election lamented saying "Am disappointed with INEC. Nigerians have lost trillions of naira, risked their lives on road and air as well as faced other huge loses. The handweiwtting is clearly written on the well. The signals are very clear that the people have become tied of the half truths and have therefore resolved that they need to get Nigeria working again. But instead of the postponement to discourage me, it has inspire me and my household the more. "

Celebrities like Banky W, Omotola Jalade, David among nemourous others have come out to express their displeasure over the recent developments and the bad treatment of youth corpors who are been used as ad-hoc staff by INEC

He described the one week adjustment  as a painful one for INEC saying "we take full responsibility for what happened and we regret any inconveniences our decision might have caused."
