Chairman house committee on Finance and appropriation and member representing Anambra East constituency at the Anambra state house of assembly, Hon. Chris Obinna Emeneka has assured Ndi-Anambra that the 2022 budget, will address the major challenges confronting the state.

Emeneka while speaking with correspondents after budget bilateral defense said

"It was a brain storming budget bilateral interaction and defense for the 2022 draft estimate. This is a stage of the budget process. Through out the defense, which had various MDA's in attendance, the various committees looked into the proposals and what was spent on the past year 2021 and what they can spend in 2022. At the end of the day during the collation process, and from the reports from the secratery of the various committees, we will have a well detailed proposal from the MDA's so that we can meet the needs of Ndi-Anambra.

'Ndi-Anambra will be expecting us to pass the 2022 draft estimate which by the special grace of God will be done these year (Next week) so that we can commence the next financial year with a budget of 141 billion (A very small decrease of that of last year) that is under law and is realistic, implementable and will meet the expectation of Ndi-Anambra.

"We as lawmakers and also partners in government with the executive, are now properly armed to do the needful. Very soon the budget targed 'Budget of consolidation' will be passed.

On the issues of non release of funds which was the major complain of most ministries, Emeneka said "Non-release of fund has to do with revenue and the priority of the state government.

Speaking about the bad roads and how the legislatures intend to over-sight the construction and maintenance of the roads, the Anambra East representer said 'Everyone knows the current situation on roads in the state, I don't think the present and in-coming government will abandon road construction. We know that some roads are not in good shape. There were other important projects embacked by the state government which probably affected the non- construction of roads. From what the ministry of works proposed, there will be aggressive road construction. We will make sure that the funds budgeted at under works will be properly and adequately utilized.
